Chelsea have confirmed the departure of Demba Ba to Turkish side Besiktas.
The Senegal international spent just 18 months with the Blues after joining from Newcastle in January 2013.
But in his short time at Stamford Bridge, Ba scored some crucial goals, most notably at the tail end of last season.
After netting two goals in the 4-0 victory over Tottenham, Ba scored late on against Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League to send his side through on away goals.
The striker then scored the only goal of the game against Swansea, before capitalising on Steven Gerrard’s slip to open the scoring against Liverpool in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory.
But after being used primarily as an impact sub during his time in west London, Ba was linked with a return to West Ham, having also reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal last summer.
However, the Senegalese now moves on from the Premier League to join Besiktas, for a fee thought to be in the region of £8m.
