Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho reckons his three new strikers are perfect

“Remy was almost in the last day, but that was just a consequence of Fernando leaving, a reaction to an unexpected situation”

”Remy was almost in the last day, but that was just a consequence of Fernando leaving, a reaction to an unexpected situation.

”We didn’t attack immediately because we were not sure, but he was one of the players we had ready to try and get in case a space opened.

”Obviously we now we have a guy like Didier who is a box expert, a kind of striker that the box is his natural habitat. Obviously the best of the three in the air. Obviously.

”Remy is very fast, he attacks spaces, he can play even from the sides like he does for France, coming in from the right or from the left.

”Diego is a player we were chasing for about a year, waiting to get him, and we think he’s a player very adapted to the style of play we want to implement in the team.”

Remy is in line for his debut today against Swansea – and Mourinho insists club doctor Paco Biosca has assured him the Frenchman’s heart problem will not be an issue.

Liverpool pulled the plug on a move for Remy earlier this summer after claiming he had failed a medical.

But Mourinho said: ”It should be something very personal. But the way almost every club does it, it looks like the medical is not any more a private situation.

”In this club the final conclusion was the same conclusion that the French medical department had before the World Cup: the player has no problem.”

Remy himself had a pop at the Merseysiders recently, saying: ”I did not understand Liverpool’s decision. It was not very honest.

”I was not worried. I know exactly what I have; I met all the specialists possible in the world.

”A lot of players share the same situation as mine and Liverpool know it.”

Mourinho also admitted Chelsea had to sell to buy this summer to stay within Financial Fair Play rules, unlike Manchester City who broke them.

But the Special One claims he loves being a wheeler-dealer.

Mourinho said: ”From my point of view, I enjoy the situation. To buy you have to sell. To sell, you have to decide what you are going to sell, why, when. All these question marks. I enjoy it.”
