Har vi missat något skvaller/övergång?

Bland annat deklarerade han att John Terry får fortsatt förtroende som lagkapten.
– Han har stor personlighet och karisma, säger Conte.

Har vi missat något skvaller/övergång?

Liverpool continued their strong start to pre-season with a 5-0 win over Fleetwood Town on Wednesday evening, with new signing Sadio Mane impressing again.

But just because the summer friendlies are underway it doesn’t mean Premier League clubs have settled on their current squads.

On the contrary, numerous clubs are furiously trying to add to their ranks.

Arsenal still need a striker, Manchester City could do with a new defender and every English top flight club has got huge spending power.

So what do Thursday’s papers have for us in terms of transfer news?

Transfer deals of the summer so far

Here are the top stories from Thursday’s Mirror…

Everton will slap a world-record fee for a defender – and an Englishman – on John Stones’ head. The Merseysiders are preparing for an imminent bid from Manchester City as Pep Guardiola aims to step up his Sky Blue revolution. The current record for an Englishman is the £49million City paid Liverpool for Raheem Sterling last summer, while Chelsea centre-back David Luiz cost Paris Saint-Germain £1m more two years ago. But Everton will tell City that negotiations will only START at that £50m figure, and the fee could be pushed higher than that.

Stones could be on his way to Man City

Antonio Conte was given a boost on his first day at Chelsea with £25million Santos striker Gabigol confirming his interest in joining the Blues. Chelsea chiefs have been working hard to bring in the Italian’s transfer targets, ahead of the club’s pre-season tour of the USA later this month. They remain hopeful of landing Gabigol – real name Gabriel Barbosa – despite the fact that Juventus have already registered their interest in the highly-rated 19-year-old. The Italian champions have made an approach to his Brazilian club to secure his services. Chelsea, however, already have a £25m offer on the table in a bid to tempt the teenager to London. Santos are trying to persuade Barbosa to extend his contract for another two years from 2019 to 2021. But the striker is said to be interested in a move to England – despite his concerns at adapting to the Premier League and playing regularly.

Christian Benteke is ready to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool. It comes after they effectively priced Belgium international striker Benteke out of a move by demanding a sky-high price for him. The Reds have told suitors West Ham and Crystal Palace they want to recoup the full £32.5m they paid Aston Villa for the player last summer. That stance has scared off both clubs, and left Benteke convinced to try to win over manager Jurgen Klopp.

Will Benteke stick or twist this summer?

Arsene Wenger has been put on red alert after Wolfsburg hinted they are ready to sell Julian Draxler. Gunners boss Wenger has a long standing interest in 22-year-old Draxler and the German international could solve Arsenal’s search for a forward. Wolfsburg failed to make the Champions League, their sponsors Volkswagen are making cutbacks and Draxler wants to play in Europe next season.

Tottenham are considering a move for Barcelona winger Cristian Tello. Tello is in Spurs’ sights with Mauricio Pochettino keen to further improve his attacking options after striker Vincent Janssen’s arrival by landing a speedy winger with an eye for goal.

Steve Bruce is stepping up his chase for Wales’ Euro 2016 star Hal Robson Kanu. Hull are in talks with free agent Robson Kanu and are vying with Premier League rivals Middlesbrough, Burnley, Swansea and Watford, while the striker has received a £100,000-a-week offer from China. Bruce plans further talks with Robson Kanu when Hull return later this week from their pre-season training camp in the Algarve.

Burnley have suffered another knock back in the transfer market after Charlton rejected their £900,000 offer for goalkeeper Nick Pope. The Clarets’ failed bid for Pope is their third rejection this week. They also been knocked back in their attempts to sign Dale Stephens from Brighton and Jeff Hendrick from Derby.

French newspaper Le Parisien claim Chelsea have agreed a £29.1m (35m euros) fee with Leicester for N’Golo Kante.

The report says the France midfielder has been offered a five-year-deal.

Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi, 22, has already joined as Conte’s first move.

“Kenneth’s transfer to Besiktas is virtually completed”

”Kenneth’s transfer to Besiktas is virtually completed with only the Turkish club to agree his personal terms and this will be sorted out this week when the player is there to do his medical,” a source said.

”There was a late bid for him by a Spanish club, Celta Vigo, but Chelsea didn’t consider it.”

Omeruo, who has 31 caps for Nigeria, spent last season on loan in Turkey with SuperLig club Kasimpasa and impressed in 25 appearances.

The former Italy manager is expected to finally take training at Cobham tomorrow, having only been knocked out of Euro 2016 by Germany 10 days ago.

In his absence, star players Oscar, Willian, John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic and co were put through their paces ahead of their first pre-season game on Saturday against Rapid Vienna in Austria.

Antonio Conte starts work with Chelsea today and is prepared to launch a transfer bid for N’Golo Kante.

The Blues have long been linked with the Leicester City midfielder, whose immense form helped the Foxes to a shock Premier League title win last season.

Rumour Mill: our round-up of football gossip, rumours and speculation

Chelsea look in need of strengthening in midfield, but have failed to land one of Conte’s top targets in Radja Nainggolan.

Kante now seems the most realistic target for the club, as he has a £20million release clause in his Leicester contract, and with Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in the player cooling after the signing of Grzegorz Krychowiak in that position.

The France international is described as ‘certain’ to leave the King Power Stadium this summer, and is now free to negotiate a move after the end of his Euro 2016 campaign with Les Bleus.

Kante, 25, also has offers to make a big-money move to China, but the Daily Mail claim he is not keen on such a move as he seemingly favours remaining in Europe for the moment.

Star players like John Terry, Willian, Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic were all snapped back in action on the training pitch.

But there were no pictures of new manager Conte, whose Italy side were knocked out of Euro 2016 by Germany just nine days ago.

Chelsea have today unveiled their new away kit for the 2016/17 season, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Oscar and Nemanja Matic posing in the grey shirt with lurid green detailing.

The kit, which Chelsea have labelled “striking”, will be the last of the club’s deal with Adidas, who in May agreed to terminate their deal with the Blues after 11 years.

In a statement on their website Chelsea described the shirt as featuring a “striking new design [that] combines engineered mélange stripe fabric in grey and black with neon yellow accents, short shoulder stripes, a two-colour crest and an engineered collar tape featuring ‘Chelsea FC’ text.”

Chelsea could debut the new strip as early as Saturday, when they take on Austrian side Rapid Vienna in what will be Antonio Conte’s first match since taking over at Stamford Bridge.

The new shirt received a mixed response from supporters online, with several fans describing the grey and green ensemble as looking like “pyjamas”.

Having agreed to end their deal with Adidas six years early Chelsea are expected to sign a new deal worth £60million-a-year with Nike in time for the 2017-18 season, a deal worth double what they received from the German sportswear manufacturer.

France players, including Blaise Matuidi, Patrice Evra and Paul Pogba, celebrate victory with team-mates after the UEFA EURO semi final match between Germany and France

Michy Batshuayi has been tipped to excel alongside Eden Hazard at Chelsea next season.

The Belgium international joined the Blues from Marseille for £33.1million on Sunday, signing a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge to become Antonio Conte’s first signing for club.

Batshuayi, who will meet up with his new Chelsea team-mates after taking a break in the wake of Euro 2016, is set to join international colleagues Hazard and Thibaut Courtois in west London.

And Kylian Hazard, brother of Chelsea’s Eden, has backed his sibling to forge an impressive partnership with Batshuayi at Stamford Bridge next season after showing glimpses of brilliance at Euro 2016.

”Chelsea is a great team for Belgians at the minute.” Hazard junior told Goal. ”You see it with another Belgian arriving in Michy Batshuayi as well as Thibaut Courtois.

”Batshuayi will do really well at Chelsea and he can help Diego Costa, including times like last season when he was injured, and score goals. He will work with Eden well just as they did for Belgium.

”They know each other now and we have talked about Michy’s move. We think he will be really good.”

The two are eyed as potential replacements for Kompany and the new manager admitted he would only be able to back the current captain if he can avoid injury.

”My dream for Vincent Kompany is to be fit,” Guardiola added.

”Especially in the last two years he played not too many games.

”The captain has a lot of experience, he is a magnificent central defender but he has to be fit.

”I spoke with him to say just focus on your body.

”Forget about the other things, just focus to recover and come back where you were in the past.

”After that, Vincent will decide for himself but we are sure of his quality.”

Chelsea are reportedly entering the running to seal the transfer of Lazio winger Antonio Candreva ahead of Napoli.

Antonio Conte is a big fan of the Italy international, and is seemingly keen to snap him up amid fears that Juan Cuadrado is likely to leave the club to join Juventus permanently.

Candreva, 29, shone for Conte’s Italy side at Euro 2016, and has generally been one of the top attacking players in Serie A in recent seasons.

Cuadrado spent last season on loan at Juventus, and Gianluca Di Marzio claims he could now be heading out of Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis, with Candreva emerging as the ideal replacement.

Candreva is seemingly close to a £20million move to Napoli, but Chelsea hope they can hijack the deal late on.

Although Manchester City have been linked, the Sun claim Messi’s father, Jorge, held talks with Roman Abramovich on his private yacht.

Should the Blues wish to sign Messi, they would have to break the world transfer record and pay in excess of £100million for his signature.

Oscar is set to meet with new Blues boss Antonio Conte to discuss his future, according to reports.

Manchester United have reportedly settled on £103million fee with Juventus over the transfer of Paul Pogba.

Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri claims an agreement has been reached that will see Pogba earn £11.2m a year.

He tweeted: ”All confirmed: Manchester United reached agreement with Pogba for 13m€ wages per year and will bid 120m€.

”Note: if Manchester United finalise the deal, then will break any record paying Pogba 145m€ (120 to Juve + 25 to agent).”

Valencia have rejected a bid of around £40million from Chelsea for midfielder Andre Gomes.

The Portuguese international is expected to leave the Mestalla this summer after the club failed to qualify for European competition, and Juventus have been leading the chase for the 22-year-old.

But it is the Blues who have made the biggest play for his signature, bidding over €50million as Antonio Conte searches for central midfielders who can fit his energetic style of play.

Gomes had an up-and-down campaign with Valencia but has impressed in France during Euro 2016 and is expected to become one of the Continent’s best midfielders.

Chelsea have competition from Juventus in the chase for the talented 22-year-old

Former coaches of the Portugal star have compared him to Michael Ballack for his box-to-box capabilities, but he has also shown a capacity to play in wide positions.

It is unclear whether Chelsea will go any higher in their pursuit of Gomes, but Valencia are holding out for a bumper fee from Juventus in the expectation that The Old Lady sells Paul Pogba to Manchester United for a world-record fee.

The Blues have frequently been linked with Napoli’s talented centre-back, who during a contract dispute.

Conte and owner Roman Abramovich are more determined than ever to bring Koulibaly to Stamford Bridge, according to .
