Frank Lampard insists Chelsea have not submitted an offer to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz.

The 21-year-old has attracted interest from several several Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Manchester United following his impressive performances in the Bundesliga.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the Germany international, who has scored 16 goals and registered nine assists for Leverkusen this season.

On Wednesday, reports claimed that Chelsea have submitted an £80 million bid to sign Havertz.

And when asked how highly he rates Havertz, Lampard replied: ‘He’s obviously a top player but to follow on from my answer before it’s certainly not going to comment on other teams, and it cannot be our focus. So, nothing to say.’

But when asked if Chelsea have submitted an offer for Havertz, Lampard replied: ‘No, no bids have gone in.’

Lampard is also unsure if Chelsea will complete another signing this summer having already announced deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

‘I don’t know because we have the games we need to complete before the window opens,’ said the Chelsea manager.

‘So that’s something we’ll broach when it comes around, for the minute our only focus can be on the games in hand.’

Chelsea face Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening.
