Jack Grealish applauds Aston Villa fans after the draw with Manchester United

Jack Grealish is ‘far better than Aston Villa’ and should join one of the Premier League’s elite, Robbie Savage believes.

Villa’s captain scored a sensational goal in a 2-2 draw against Manchester United, bending the ball past David de Gea from a tight angle into the top corner to send the away fans into delirium at Old Trafford.

He stood head and shoulders above the rest on the field with another swashbuckling display that has characterised his return to the Premier League following promotion from the Championship.

As calls for him to be called up to the England squad grow – he has inexplicably failed to make any of Gareth Southgate‘ squads to date – so too have calls for him to move to one of the top sides in English football.

Manchester United academy graduate Savage, who used to play for Villa’s bitter rivals Birmingham City, believes his future belongs away from Villa Park and called on the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur to make a ‘massive offer’ for the 24-year-old.

‘Aston Villa what are they going to achieve? Staying in the Premier League,’ Savage said on BBC Five Live.

‘If they achieve that it is going to be a great season for them, they are not winning a cup.

‘If Manchester City, Spurs or Chelsea come with a massive offer for Jack Grealish, let’s say £80m, I think he’ll go.

‘He’s far better than Aston Villa.’

Grealish will take on Chelsea in midweek, with Villa looking to extend the three-point gap between them and the relegation zone and move towards the top half.

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea will be hoping to bounce back after a disappointing 1-0 defeat to West Ham.

They will hope to welcome star striker Tammy Abraham, who spent last season on loan at Villa, back into the fold.
